UAE Golden Jubilee: Sheikh Zayed 2021 Festival to feature special shows and new attractions

Celebrating the 50th year, Sheikh Zayed Festival 2021 will open with more than 22,500 artists and exhibitors, and new attractions including a drone show, light garden and ice rink to name a few .

The festival, named after the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, will run from November 18 to April 1 next year.

Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan pointed out that the festival has become a remarkable international event on Abu Dhabi’s global calendar, where different cultures and civilizations converge in harmony.

“The Festival has acquired a world-leading status thanks to the support, follow-up and commitment of good leadership at the highest level, allowing it to achieve qualitative leaps, attracting, as it does, a wide participation. Arab, Gulf and international countries, supporting efforts to spread the UAE’s human message and show the world that the UAE is a melting pot of civilizations, ”he said.

The festival has a 50th Zone year with a unique gallery showcasing the UAE’s journey over the past 50 years.

Humaid Saeed Al Neyadi, chief of staff of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and vice-chairman of the festival’s organizing committee, said there will be several special events to celebrate the UAE’s national day.

“This edition of the festival coincides with the UAE’s Golden Jubilee, the UAE’s 50th National Day, and we will celebrate the occasion with a full range of surprises and events, including thousands of cultural activities that will educate and entertain the whole family.”

New additions include a “miracle garden” with a collection of famous buildings and illusion structures, a “funfair town” amusement park, a spooky escape room “the house of fear”, a go-cart ‘Crazy car’, off-road motorcycle ‘extreme weekend’ races and a special booth at Expo 2020 Dubai. There will be over 4,500 cultural events and 650 shows and events, and over 130 workshops for children.

“The Festival helps to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a premier tourist and cultural destination through the Festival’s regional and international participants, establishing the emirate’s prominent position on the map of cultural and heritage events in around the world, ”added Al Neyadi.

Visitors can enjoy several concerts, weekly fireworks, an ever popular fountain show, culinary experience, theatrical and cultural pavilions, parades, military heritage music performances, a Arabian horse show and Al Wathba custom car show.

For the first time, the Al Forsan International Sports Resort is also partnering with a variety of sporting activities for the whole family, including karting, archery, flight simulations, bungee jumping. , zip lines, remote control cars, the merry-go-round and more. .

All events will take place taking all preventive health measures. The festival begins this Thursday from 4 p.m. to 12 p.m. and until 1 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and public holidays.
