When it comes to restaurants in Wichita, one of the most polarizing and talked about places for the best burgers, holes in the wall, south side spots or even bucket list fine dining spots is bomber burger. Everyone who has been there has a strong opinion of what they think and whether they will return. For me, there is no doubt that I will always return. I always leave my feelings at the door, walk in and prepare my appetite for what’s to come.

I had a spirit meeting with a few others, and while some people may go to a downtown restaurant or cafe, we opted for Bomber Burger.
Despite their 800 square foot space, we were able to find a table to sit the three of us. For the other two, it was their first time, and there’s nothing I love more than helping people discover different restaurants in town.
Bomber Burger’s old grill and three-quarter pound burgers are always one of the first things people love when they arrive. We ordered the single, double and triple burgers between the three of us…. and fries because fries are a necessity for burgers.
For a burger this size, it’s hard to get it right, but owner Chris Rickard is a grill wizard. If you like random, sometimes profane jokes and a perfectly cooked burger, this is the place to go. I love big, thick, juicy burgers and there’s no place in Wichita that does that like Bomber Burger.
I’ve said it before, but I might as well say it again. Bomber Burger is not for the easily offended. Many people who walk into Bomber Burger often talk about the owner and his brash sense of humor. That kind of stuff doesn’t bother me at all. I really think that behind that tough exterior is a man who is very caring and has proven himself to be a generous individual.
