Hunters who missed the Camp Ripley Archery Hunting Lottery deadline can purchase excess permits on a first-come, first-served basis starting at noon on Friday, September 10. Hunters who have already received a license will not be allowed to purchase a surplus license. .
There are 197 licenses left in total for the hunt, which will take place from Friday October 29 to Sunday October 31.
Hunters can purchase a surplus permit from any Minnesota Department of Natural Resources licensing agent or online at mndnr.gov/buyalicense. The permits will remain on sale for as long as they are available, or until Friday, October 15. The cost of the permit is $ 14.
Hunters will need to use excess license code 677 and then select Camp Ripley hunt code 668. Successful applicants will receive a hunt record in the mail, which includes a notice required to enter Camp Ripley.
The bag limit for this year’s hunt is two deer. Hunters can use their regular archery license, which is valid for both sexes, or can use bonus licenses to catch antlerless deer. Additional rules and instructions are available on the MNR Deer Hunting Web Page.
The archery hunt at Camp Ripley is an annual event. The DNR coordinates the hunt in conjunction with the Department of Natural Resources at Central Lakes College and the Department of Military Affairs, which manages the 53,000-acre military reserve.
