The Delray Senior Games recently wrapped up at the end of September at various venues around the city.

The competition started on August 23 and continued until September 24. Delray Beach has hosted nearly 300 senior athletes who have competed in the annual Senior Games. Some of the competitions will take place in February due to lower attendance than expected.

“As these participants get wiser in age, they should have a lot of passions,” said Rashod Smith, Recreation Supervisor III with the City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department. “Passions drive you forward. They make you want to live and do. They came here, made new friends and did something new every day. Compete!”

The seniors competed in bowling and basketball/shooting, swimming, golf, archery and pickleball as well as track and field.
