Mexico shone at this year’s World Youth Archery Championships in Wroclaw, Poland, winning three gold medals.
Selene RodrÃguez won first place in the under-18 compound category, competing in her first international competition. She defeated Priya Gurjar of India 139-136.
“[Iâm] very excited this is something i have never felt before. I’ve never been a world champion, âsaid RodrÃguez.
In the final against Gurjar, each archer scored 28 points before RodrÃguez took a three-point lead over his opponent in the second final. All of his arrows except one landed in the yellow target.
Mexico’s women’s under-21 compound team of Dafne Quintero, Mariana Bernal and Astrid Alanis also won gold after beating the Russian team.

On the men’s side, Mexico claimed another victory thanks to the men’s Under-21 squad, made up of Rodrigo Olvera, Sebastián GarcÃa and Luis Lezama, who won 230-229 against Turkey.
